The following privacy policy describes the information and privacy practices for all River ValleyTek (herein after referred to as RVT) services.

This privacy policy describes how RVT will collect and use your information. When you provide an RVT technician with your personal information, you consent to the information practices described in this policy.

This privacy policy may not apply to web sites that are accessible through RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM. RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM may contain links to other sites operated by third parties including, but not limited to, third-party sites that display RVT trademarks. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of those other sites to learn how they collect, use, share and secure your information.

To assist you with reading through our privacy policy, we have provided questions and answers below that you may find helpful in understanding our privacy practices:

WHAT INFORMATION WILL RVT TECHNICIANS COLLECT FROM ME?

We may collect personal information such as your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, credit card number and other billing information. We never save you credit card information.

WHEN DOES RVT COLLECT INFORMATION FROM ME?

While taking advantage of services available from RVT, you may be asked to provide personal information. For example, you may be asked to provide personal information when you schedule an appointment for services at your home or office, bring in your product for service, purchase products, contact RVT with a question or concern, participate in a promotion or survey, and/or participate in other activities with RVT.

HOW IS MY INFORMATION USED?

RVT uses the information you provide in order to fulfill requests for services or information; provide customer services; administer promotions or surveys; offer new products or services; improve the effectiveness of RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM, marketing endeavors and offers; conduct research and analysis; send marketing communications; or perform other business activities.

DOES RVT SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH OTHERS?

RVT does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. RVT may need to share your personal information with certain third parties such as our service providers and other representatives for limited purposes. For example, RVT may share personal information with third parties to perform services such as sending RVT marketing communications, servicing products, conducting research, analysis or administering surveys, sending regular mail and email on behalf of RVT, processing credit card payments, data storage and hosting services.

The third parties with whom RVT conducts business are only authorized to use your information to perform the service for which they were hired. As part of the agreement with them, they are required to follow the privacy guidelines provided to them and to take reasonable measures to ensure your personal information is secure.

From time to time, RVT may be required to share personal information in response to a valid court order, subpoena, government investigation, or as otherwise required by law. RVT also reserves the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that RVT, in good faith, believes to be unlawful. RVT may share certain personal information when RVT believes that such release is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property and safety of others and ourselves. RVT may also transfer personal information in the event of a corporate sale, merger, acquisition, dissolution or similar event.

DO I HAVE CHOICES REGARDING THE USE OF MY INFORMATION FOR MARKETING PURPOSES?

RVT is an opt-out organization. Once RVT receives your information, RVT may send you marketing communications that contain valuable offers, promotions and other content. You always have the ability to opt-out of receiving future marketing communications from RVT.

To change your status with respect to receiving marketing communications from RVT, you may 1) Call 815-623-3145, request to opt-out of marketing communications and provide your current contact information. Or 2) Send an email with your current contact information to service@RIVERVALLEYTEK.com.

If you send an email, please include your full name, address, phone number and email address and indicate specifically what type of marketing communication(s) (for example, email, direct mail and/or phone) you wish to stop receiving. This helps identify you correctly in RVT systems so technicians can accurately process your request.

RVT will take the appropriate steps to implement your request to opt-out of receiving marketing communications. Please note that due to production, mailing and system timelines, in order to remove you from RVT marketing lists, it may take up to ten business days for emails and 30 calendar days for phone calls.

Until the change takes effect, you may still receive marketing communications from us.

Also, please note that even though you may have requested not to receive future marketing communications, you may still receive business-related communications such as appointment confirmation calls, billing information or other organization-related communications.

HOW DO RVT TECHNICIANS SECURE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION?

SECURITY

Whether you are using RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM, having services performed remotely or at your location RVT has security measures in place and take reasonable precautions to protect against the loss, misuse and unauthorized access of your personal information under RVT’s abilities. This includes personal information that you provide in order to complete a purchase. RVT cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit by email, and you do so at your own risk. Please note: While RVT is able to protect personal information that is provided during the course of business, RVT cannot take responsibility for data loss on the products or systems serviced. You will need to ensure your data has been removed or backed-up in order to safeguard this information.

REMOTE ACCESS

RVT offers remote access service to assist in diagnosing and resolving system issues. This process allows a RVT technicians to remotely access your computer to determine the problem and either repair it or provide advice on what options are available to fix the issue. By taking advantage of this service, you are giving permission to an RVT technician to log into your computer which may contain personal information. An RVT technician will only search your computer to determine the cause of the problem and will attempt to limit their interaction with your files to a minimum. It is your responsibility to ensure all of your files, especially those containing personal information, are secure to prevent any type of data loss or corruption.

DOES RVT USE COOKIES OR OTHER TECHNOLOGIES TO COLLECT INFORMATION ABOUT ME?

A cookie is a small data file that a web site or email may send to your browser, which may then be stored on your hard drive. RVT web sites and emails may use cookies to create a more personalized user experience for visitors to our site. Cookies simulate a continuous connection — they let RVT remember information about your preferences and session. Although these cookies may contain a unique user ID, they do not collect or store any of your identifiable personal information.

The RVT web server automatically collects clickstream information such as the address, or URL of the web site that you came from before visiting RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM, which pages you visit on RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM, which browser you used to view RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM and any search terms you may have entered on RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM, among other things. RIVERVALLEYTEK.COM may also use other technologies to track which pages of RVT sites visitors view. This anonymous clickstream data helps us understand how visitors use RVT sites.

DOES RVT COLLECT INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN?

RVT will not knowingly or intentionally collect personal information online from children under the age of 13. RVT is committed to protecting the privacy of children.

Because RVT will continue to implement new technologies and improve the services and features provided, this policy is subject to change. If we change our information practices or this privacy policy in such a way that your personal information may be used or shared in a different manner, RVT will give you the opportunity to opt-out of having your information used or shared in that new manner.
